Ordinary to Extraordinary

Day 65:  Generally I don't like reality shows, but I do like cooking shows. There isn't much to it--they cook, and sometimes its a competition. Lately I've been watching Master Chef Junior. There is something so cool about it, especially if you've seen the regular adult competition. When the kids are interviewed, they rarely are disparaging towards the other contestants. In fact, when one of them has a hard time and is near tears, its amazing to watch all of these kids reach out to comfort him.

Today I was especially impressed with a little girl on the show. She had a serious disadvantage. Aside from being the youngest, she could only create her dish using two ingredients. Other kids had anywhere from 4-10. She had 2. How on earth do you wow judges with just two ingredients?

Well, this little girl did it-she had the second best dish of the evening. It was an amazing accomplishment.

It's a pretty powerful lesson if you think about it. No matter what our age, our handicap, our situation, God can use any of us to do amazing things. Think about it. Abraham was old. Jacob was a weasel. Rahab was a prostitute. David was young. And of course, the list goes on.

The little girl just trusted her instincts, and didn't fear.

As Christians, we need to trust in God, and not fear.
Then we may be privileged to see the ordinary become extraordinary.
So, have your hand up, and be ready to be called on,
regardless of your age or any other preconceived barrier you think you may have!

Please, God, bless!

"When the Philistine looked and saw David, he had contempt for him, because he was only a young man. David had a dark, healthy complexion and was handsome......David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone; he struck down the Philistine and killed him, and there was no sword in David’s hand." 1 Sam 17:42, 50  ISV

Inspired by "365: A Daily Creativity Journal: Make Something Every Day and Change Your Life!" I decided I should be more conscientious of my creative side. I chose to modify this one year challenge (9/23/14-9/24/15) to create something each day that would also force me to focus my perspective on a Godly world-view.
